I'm new - love posts like Bowtiehuntinhoe's!

I've tracked this forum and thread for awhile. This 2001 was/is still for now - my son's DD. He graduates this spring and will take my F150 to Colorado for college - he loves the Tahoe but I feel better about him taking the newer truck with all highway miles, even though both are 4WD.

This Tahoe has been a bit of project to get back to perfect...the previous owner lived on a dirt road and didn't keep up with the front end deteriations...but after a lot of new bushings, tie rod ends, the new Intermediate Steering Stablizer and a set of new shocks all around...the truck rides smooth and quiet again. Engine and Tranny are all original and have given NO problems since we've had it a few years. Bought it about 30k ago. (currently has 207,*** on it) The third row seats haven't left the shed we stored them in the 2nd week we owned it. lol.

Pulls our boat, trailer with dirt bikes or 4 wheeler, or anything else just great. Drivers seat leather could use recovering...but it's not tore thru yet.

This truck was our 3rd Tahoe- my wife had 2 and now has our 4th as her Daily Driver (she doesn't drive much, lol) but she LOVES her new LTZ.

close to hitting 160k. had to replace the fuel pump, brake lines and 4x4 motor from old wear. back in my early license days at 17 i beat the living hell out of this truck off roading so from me being an idiot i blew 3 pistons. just thought i should make it clear that it wasn't the truck giving out; just me being a young kid. but other than that this truck has been absolutely amazing!

Just rolled over 250k this week on the '01 Yukon. Replaced 1 tie rod, alternator, and fan clutch, and cats. I'm sure we've replaced the A/C compressor somewhere along the way as well. Been a good truck, I still drive her like I stole her, runs and shifts good.

I have a 01 Suburban with 183k on it and I've replaced:
fuel pump twice (one ac delco/ one autozone)
front hubs twice
water pump
other maintenance items (brakes, 3 sets tires, etc.)
plans this summer will be to replace the front and rear shocks, etc.

Mine was at 292000 when it started knocking. Replaced engine at 294500 with a 54000 mile engine. Now has almost 298000. I think the dealer I got it from ran 50 weight oil in it to keep it quiet and I don't think it was kept up on its service before either.

208,500 on a 2003 Yukon. I've replaced the fuel pump, alternator, and had to redo the gauge cluster.

Oh, how I love threads like this...just proves how well built these things are...

First...my baby,

2001 Silverado x-cab stepside 2WD...284,000 miles...hard driving miles
stock trans, never changed the fluid, or filter, just put in a big honkin cooler
LS2 heads, ported, polished, 5 angle valve job, and all the goodies
ZO6 cam
hollowed out cats, muffler delete, and cold air intake
dyno tuned 346 at the tires
drove her like I stole her EVERY DAY!!!
She runs great, but she got hit, and insurance company totaled her
