No the older ones won't fit, most of the time headers on these 07-up trucks is a waste, but with your plans you may get some benefits.

Looks like you are doing right having an entire custom exhaust (x pipe w/ true duals). Hopefully you are at least installing an intake and have plans for a tune to make the most of it. For the tune, check out Black Bear (one of this site's vendors).

As for headers, look at JBA or Edelbrock. They make them for the NNBS Tahoes.

Long tube headers help produce more torque at low/mid rpms due to exhuast scavaging. The duration of the exhaust pulse affects scavaging. The exhaust pulse is inversely proportional to engine RPM.

With long primaries, the exhaust pulses are more synchronized and work together at low RPM at the collector and assist in the evacuation of the other primaries, increasing efficiency. Now the engine can "exhale" more efficiently (more flow) and with a tune to optimize the air/fuel ration, more power is created.

Money is better spent elsewhere in my opinion. I dont think you will get enough power back from the money you will spend. Save it for a Blackbear and an intake/exhaust. Once you have that save you $$$ for an SC

Wow that was hard to read.

The first post sound like you knew what you were doing, but this post is just all over the place. Based on the bolded statement above, clearly you are new at this and need more help beyond just a forum. If you really want to spend the $$$, just go to an exhaust shop and discuss your project with them.

Good luck.

sorry about that my daughter was harressing me and i was trying to type fast lol. ive done a complete custom exhaust on my 03 maxima and 99 f150, but i was able to buy long tube headers no problem for them. so my main question was whats the difference between long and short power wise. ide still use the cats for emissions i would just move them back and move the o2 sensors. the f150 and maxima were easier cause they had a main cat and thats all i used i didnt use the pre cats. but on our trucks we only have two so if i bought shorttys i would use the cats and y pipe and then split it were the 2 pipes meet. but now that i found long tubes iam gunna go with them and just use the cats that are already on the truck i plan on puting a sc so i want all the air flow i can get right now. i am just gunna put an intake and custum exhaust and tune for now. my wife wants me to lift it 4 inches and put 35s under it so the more power the better lol thanxs for ure help guys.andrew
