Whats goin on all??? I am lookin at picking up an '02 Z71 Hoe as a sister to my '02 Z28 to be my DD. I am tired of beating up my Car DD'n it with 315's out back during the winters, So I need a Hoe. Been lurkin around some of the forums and lookin at different suspension lifts and options, and yeah can make up my mind :emotions122:. I have seen the Suspension Maxx keys... some of the lift kits.... but I want some honest opinions from owners.

if you want 35s the best way to do it is with a 6" suspension lift. cheap way is 3" body lift and some torsion keys/rear coil spacers. I think the frame hangs down too low with a body lift but if all you want are some 35s that will be the cheapest route. I'd find some oem tahoe 5 spoke 17s and get some 315/70/17 bfgs with only the torsion keys and coil spacers, done this on a few customer's trucks and it looks great without having to hack the shit out of your bumpers.

something like this

would look dope powdercoated black. the higher offset and narrow width is what helps you clear a big tire without much lift.

Thanks Max!.... With the BFG's you dont need the body lift??? Just the Keys and coil spacers? If so thats probably gonna be the route for me. As much as I love a nice suspension lift there really is no good places to "use" it by me (LI, NY).But dont wanna go too crazy since this will be a DD with the occasional towing duty for the track. I have some time to desided though... Car is getting a motor first, then the Hoe gets my LS1 after a refresh and small cam. Cant have the girls fighting lol.

Deff diggin the rims in black... easy.. simple... dont care about hemmin them up lol

the bfgs run small, 33.75"x12" on those wheels. I think you'll be much happier with a small lift and those, esp if you powdercoated the wheels black and did a nasty heads/cam/longtubes and a converter. what ya got done to the f-body? buddy is finishing his iron block 408 with twin 80mm build, love those cars.

Yeah you are deff right bout the rims and tire combo. To be honest I prob wont even put a verter in the truck... just a small cam, headers, Corsa (again lol), and gears. I have a set of Dart 205's sittin here that may make it on too lol.

As for the Z28 Building a forged 347 with dart 225's and Vinci *** cam in prep for a Maggie. Right now she is sitting quiet with kooks headers, corsa catback, TCS 3200 stall, ported throttle body and a few odds and ends. Not goin crazy with the Z28 just a fun car to drive around and play with 525 horse at the tire.
