2016 Yukon with optional Air Leveling/Trailer Package. I just spent a week in Dallas and have to say...you guys in Dallas/Plano need to spend some $$$$ on road maintenance/re-surfacing. Frisco wasn't bad at all but once you drop South of Legacy on Preston or most side streets, the roads are rough as a Cob !!

Anyway...at 65K miles my Factory rear air shocks do little to control bounce and rebound...but do a great job of leveling a heavy trailer tongue weight. On rough, wavy roads I'm jumping around all over the place. What have any of you guys with this set up done/used for a replacement that has decent ride quality but retains "Auto Level" function?

Thanks in advance.

Ok...I bled all the air from the rear shocks...re installed the hoses...heard the pump run and the ride height is still the same. The rear of the truck is still easy to bounce up and down standing on the trailer hitch. I don't understand why there is no dampening action from the shocks. I guess they are worn out? I don't know.

its not necessarily supposed to stop the truck from going up and down it would ride like a lumber wagon if that was the case. its supposed to bounce and soften the impact of of the road so you feel less. the shocks are there to keep it from continuing to bounce after the suspension has "bounced". the air system is there so when you load the back of the vehicle it doesn't squat so much that it effects handling. you have a 2 part rear suspension system. one for controlling the bounce and one for ride height. if you jump up and down on the hitch and jump off and it stops bouncing its working as it should.
