Hello I recently purchased a 01 Tahoe. I'm currently working on installing a dd . I have the 8 speakers with factory subwoofer and onstar. I just don't know what harness I will need.. Thanks Steve

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the forum

FYI your "On Star" wont work as its analog not the new digital or so im told

Your onstar wont work, I am in the same boat as you with my 2000. Our tahoes were analog onstar, they only use digital now, so the answer is, it will not work. They do make a mirror that is onstar I bought one but never used it.lol

You don't have to splice the pink wire. When you wire up your HU harness to the aftermarket harness, just make sure you connect the blue remote wire. There is nothing you need to do with the small flat factory harness (which has the pink wire in it). Your blue remote wire will line up with an orange wire in the factory harness (3rd wire from the left I believe). I just did this last week and everything works mint.

Thanks. I really don't care about the onstar so that isn't a problem. I will just find something to fill in the spot where it goes on the dash. Thanks again. This site rocks.

GM part #15734687. This is a blank cover that will fit in place of the onstar buttons. Just run a Google search to figure out where you want to get them from.
