Looking into buying 07

Im currently looking into buying an 07 Denali, thing thats got me on edge is the airbag recall, obviously no one wants to buy a car that has an open recall, but how serious is it and how do others feel who have these years.

Crazy part is I just bought an 07 Tahoe from a Chevy dealer and they didn't disclose this.

You will only know if it's affected by the recall if you run the vin at a gm dealership. That's where I would start. If you find a denali you're interested in, call a gm dealership with the vin and see if it's affected by the airbag recall. As far as I know a dealership can't sell you a vehicle with a faulty or defective airbag, that's illegal as it's a safety concern. So if you're looking at one for sale if it was affected by airbag it will probably already have the airbag replaced.

On GM's website they are saying the fix isn't even available yet. And the lady I spoke with from customer service confirmed that. I'm currently waiting for a call back.

Well I know here in California that it's illegal to sell a vehicle with a defective airbag. I would think it's the same in probably most states. So if the OP is looking at one on a dealership lot, gm or not, I wouldn't think he would not need to worry about the airbag issue as they wouldn't be able to sell it to him otherwise. But if it's from a private party seller that could be a totally different story if the seller isn't update with the gm recall.
