My family is growing and we are needing to upgrade from a SWB trailblazer to a large SUV with a third row seat. We are not looking to break the bank and are currently looking at a few '07 tahoes. I have read some of the threads in the forum regarding issues, however, consumer reports says the '07 and '08 are no go's. If I get an 07 with 100k miles am I buying a maintenance issue. I thought my 05 trailblazer was bad enough.

Any input is appreciated.

For three years I have had my 07 Suburban which is identical to what you're looking for but just longer and have had 0 issues with it outside of regular maintenance work that I've done myself. If what you are looking to buy has a clean history and has been well maintained I would not hesitate to suggest you go ahead and get it.

Consumer reports is a bunch if ****** liberals writing articles.

^ I would agree with Jacob.

However, if you are only looking for a truck-based SUV, and have a need for more space, I would consider a Suburban over a Tahoe. The third row in the Tahoe is only usable for small children, and the space left over in the rear cargo area with the third row in is not so "usable" after all. I love my Tahoe, and it works perfect for what I need it for, but it's just something to consider if you definitely need the space increase for your family. Keep us updated on your search!

^^1000000 times agree with that which is why we decided to go with our Suburban. There's no way we could do any of the things we do as a family with a Tahoe or Yukon. We have to have that extra cargo space for sure.

Another vote for the Suburban and the "extra" space! Our boys are 3 and 5 and just a little trip to the park fills up the burb.....I would be screwed if I was in my old Tahoe. This past weekend, we went to the park....one stroller (a BOB), my MT bike, two kids bikes and baseball gear. The back was almost full and that was with the 3rd row folded up.

Mine is an 07 that I just had to put a rear end in. Is that common; no. Are there certian quirks to these trucks; yes. If it was well taken care of, even at 100k miles, it shouldn't be a problem. The good thing is, parts for them are readily available just about anywhere and this site is great should you have any issues that come along.
