So I just found out I am going to have to give up my 2007 Denali in my divorse. After some looking I found a 2008 Tahoe LTZ that I am going to pick up. So my Question is......am I going to be happy with the Hoe after driving my Denali for so long. They are both loaded and black on black but, I loved that 6.2 motor. I am happy to be going to 4wd instead of full time AWD. How about the ride quality?

Sorry to hear about your DivorCe, but I think you will love the 08 Hoe. I just picked one up myself.

Never drove the denali but the ltz has the same suspension so there should be no difference in ride quality. I'd look for an 09+ ltz though cause it has more of the denali options already on it ... most noticeably the rear bumper.

The Denali has the magnetic ride control. I don't think the Hoe has it. As far as that bumper ith the itch cover, I had nothing but problems with that. After awhile it just kept falling open.

I beg to differ. I drove my Tahoe and test drove a Denali back to back and it seriously is a world of difference. After driving a Denali/Esky, it's hard to go back to a Tahoe. Before I drove a Denali though, my perception driving my Tahoe was "How could it get any better?" Either way, both vehicles are great so I don't think you will be disappointed :)

Okay ... but I've been trying to compare suspension differences between a denali an escalade and an ltz and it's hard to find details.

The standard esky doesn't have mrc even in 2011, that comes in with the luxury trim and requires 22s ... the standard esky comes with "Suspension Package, Road Sensing, electronically controlled shock absorbers" which I believe is how autoride is described although I'm not sure. http://www.cadillac.com/2011-escala...rd-optional-equipment.html#series=6C10706_1SA

Also in 2011 the denali comes standard with autoride, not the mrc. http://www.gmc.com/yukon/denali/features-specs/powertrain.html

And we know the LTZ has the autoride.

So from what I can gather, in this case, the ride 'feels' better when one is happy with the truck they're driving rather than variances in suspension specs. :)

I realize that the details of the suspension is technically not different. My old 08 Tahoe and both the 07 Esky/Avy all have AutoRide so yes technically they are the same. But I just wanted to note that there IS a significant difference in the way they drive/ride. It's just way smoother and way easier to turn the wheel on the Denali/Esky. It might be a combination of the 6.2L/AWD whereas my Tahoe was 5.3L/2WD. I also notice that having factory 22's affects the ride quality more on the Tahoe versus the Denali/Esky. If I was a blind man, I would swear that my esky was on some 17's... On the Tahoe, although I was on factory 22's and it was smooth, I could still tell that I was indeed driving a vehicle with "big rims".

MRC is definitely an (expensive add on) option whereas the standard Ecalade/Denali/Tahoe LTZ all come with AutoRide.

I'm thinking that the esky and the denali, although retaining the same autoride suspension, are probably sprung differently on account of the bigger engine and resulting weight gain ... plus the esky might be even more softly sprung because of its target demographic. If this is the case it would make sense that the resulting rides would differ. I'm just guessing here I haven't looked it up. :)
