Low Beam Bulb Type OEM Denali Projectors

I am a bit confused about bulb type for the low beam. My stock housing uses 9006 for low but the new Denali OEM projectors I just got use 9005 with an adapter cable that allows the 9006 harness to plug into the bulb.

So when I order my HID's should I order 9005 or 9006? I think the only difference between the two bulbs is the connector and I'm assuming the 9006 bulb will twist into the socket just like the 9005 but I'm not at the truck and I don't know for sure. Anyone know?

If you are putting HID's in a denali projector housing on your '03, I'd be getting the 9005's!

Thanks for the help! I already ordered the 9005 then I started seeing threads on here about the low beam being a 9006 and I second-guessed myself.

Yeah, get whatever bulbs actually fit the housing you are using. My DEPO's are weird like that, too, except I think they are the opposite and use 9006's in both high and low (or did until I put my projectors in).

Or I may be getting that backward and have the exact same issue as you....what kind of headlights did you get? I just remember something was a little different than the stock headlights.

They are OEM Denali lights from the junkyard. 9005 in the lows. Not sure about highs because it didnt come with the bulb in that slot. My standard yukon lights are 9006 low 9005 high. I have a hunch both are 9005 for the denali.

Now I'm curious what I have in my highs since I just can't remember, but my wife has the truck so I can't just run out and check....lol. I need to find out, though, since I'm ordering some HIR bulbs for the highs and knowing whether I need 9011 or 9012 is kind of key to that.

For now I just ordered the DDM 9005 35W kit. I will retrofit a true projector some other time. First I want to see how they look with the halogen projectors.

HID's 9005 and 9006 are identical. Only OEM is there a difference in bulb and that is the locking lugs.
