Low Oil?

So its been about 5k miles since i've changed the oil in my 07 z71 tahoe 5.3, and I got a sign on my dash when i start the truck saying "Low Oil, Add Oil" I then took it too the shop right down the street from my apartment. Since my last change 5k miles back my truck burnt 1.5 quarts of oil. This isnt that much oil but burning oil is not good, so idk what i should do. Truck has almost 100k miles on it and im out of warranty. The dude at the lube shop said that the gmc motors tend to burn oil, and he's even had customers have gm replace their motors under warranty because of this. What do yall think? Since I'm out of warranty this could be a very expensive problem so im trying to get a second opinion? I use full synthetic in the truckk too

Looks like it's fairly normal according to that thread, but make sure you're on the lookout for blue-ish smoke coming out of your tailpipes.

I just had a update done where they replaced my valve covers, Installed a Shield in the oil pan and preformed a decarbon procedure. Im roughly 75 oil life and still full on oil.

I had what Sumo talked about done several months before my engine finally failed. I think my thread is a good read. Just keep an eye on it and don't use the truck for long distance trips.
