Hi folks..Just wondering if anyone has any experience with the 09 Tahoe/Suburban AC ports..I have zero idea which is the low side..I tried one and it didn't fill with the charge kit and had a domestic AC tech say that he thought the other was the low pressure so I stopped and put the gear down before I killed myself..LOl

Anyway..I tried port number 1 in the image but like I said, the domestic tech ( Not auto tech) said that he thought it would be port two.

Please do not charge the ac with those things from Autozone.

Ac systems require the correct pressure to operate. You have no way of telling his many pounds of refrigerant are already in there. If you over fill it it will strain the compressor. Also it will not cool as well.

Why are you adding to it?

If it is not cooling it may be low...... but you need to fix the leak first.

Have you opened the system?

Need to pull a vac on it if you have.

Low side is cool/cold to the touch when running. That should be on the accumulator receiver drier. The High side is hot/warm because the refrigerant is coming from being compressed....... compression generates heat.

If you tap in the the high side with the vehicle running the compressor generates enough psi to blow the recharge can in your hand.

The Ac wasn't cooling as well as it should so I figured I would add a touch to the desired pressure. The kit said that the adapter would only fit the low sire valve so I tried that one that it did fit. Can never emptied and I don't think any went in at all on port 1. I did notice that he lines connected to port 2 in the image did get cold like you had mentioned but the confusing part to me is that the valve on that line is larger and the kits valve couldn't connect to that one. And to top it off, this site http://acprocold.com/ gives additiona conflicting arguments on both sides for tahoes, suburbans and Silveradoes...What a mess

Is the entire vehicle vents not cold? Things like blend door actuators go bad on these things too

Okay. Get it pressure tested first....... before messing with it more. Just friendly advice.
