What would be the best way to lower my 2004 Yukon XL Denali. Im wondering if I could just reconfigure my air ride shocks? I want to drop the front at least 3 inches and the rear about 5 inches. Is there any way to do this with out dumping alot of money into it and without jeapordizing the function of my auto ride system. Thanks in advance.

Theres about 32783784 posts about this already...check the "suspension" section for the 00-06 generation...or do a search

As for the autoride issue...no, if your going as low as 5 inches...you have to lose the autoride feature...

Got my gear through MAX here on the forum. As Blizz stated there's plenty of threads in here to help you as well as talk about combinations of parts.

Here's a shot of mine from a few hours after I finished the install. It's settled in the rear and the thing is now level. If we could get a break from all the damn snow I'll get some more pics for this and a couple other threads on going.

How is it driving with that suspension set up in the snow? Would you recommend it?

Snow is not an issue, handles great and tracks very well.

I definately need to do the free travel mod. We had a recent plummit in temps to well below zero for about a week, I immediately noticed the rear was hitting the bump stops via audible sound in the cabin. Apparently when it's above freezing the bump stops are a bit softer and cushion the sound and feel. Once it got super cold I noticed right away audibly that the free travel mod is a necessity.

By the way, mines an 05 and it was a 2/3 kit with the rear isolators removed. As you can see it came down a bit more than 2/3.

I love my drop in the snow, just have to watch out for small children and dogs. You'll get through everything you do now as long as you have good tires.

As for eliminating the auto ride feature does this enable the service light or do you keep everything intact and just install lowering links.

I have 23" wheels on mine and Im wondering if lowering will be a problem with rubbing when turning or any other issues that come with lowering Denali's

No, you most likely will not be having rubbing issues but that also strongly depends on what wheel/offset combination you get.. If you get the correct offset you will have zero rubbing issues.. I have 26's and love it. No complaints.

2" Spacers

My problem is that I like my wheels to be outside of the wheel well at least 1" so I bought 2 inch spacers to bring them out past the wheel well and it makes it look tough. I love how the aggressive stance it has. Before Spacers no rubbing and after spacers it rubs with my 23's but not my factory rim and tires, So If anyone was going to use them for your factory wheels they work great but my 23's they rub. So Im going to need to get rid of the two inch spacers or go with a smaller tire wall. So I think Im going to have to sell the spacers but I love the look because it looks like a mean machine with the wide stance. So If you know anyone who wants 2 inch spacers for a yukon or sierra Ill let them have them for $100 and I paid $189 for them. They were used for 4 months last summer and taken off when I put my factory tires on for winter. They are in great shape and if anyone wants to make an offer Im open to that tool. Take Care
