I am in the process of getting my tahoe as low as I can get it. I am wondering what I have to do to remove the 4x4. I do not have a use for it at all. It's just extra weight in a vehicle that will be getting close to 2000-3000 extra pounds of stereo equipment intalled.

it's not hard at all. You will need to get a 2wd trans or have your output shaft and tail housing switched. Remove the front diff, front axles, replace your hub bearings with 2wd units. longer rear drive line.

The front hubs were my biggest concern. So the 2wd hubs bolt right up?

I dont think so. 2wd hubs are from 99 and newer. They have bigger brakes. Unless theres a 2wd OBS hub out there. 99 and up lowered spindles can be modified to work.

All i did was take off the transfer case and half of the axles to hold up the wheels.

Been driving it like that with no problems
