Ok, I have been doin homework on lowering the new family Hoe. 09-6.2l-a6-22's. Basically every option but the power running boards. Its got 11k on the clock and goes maybe 10 miles a day as the wifes DD.

Im looking at Tonys 2-3/4 kit with the end links and possably the DJM sway bars. I am questioning the helper bags but do plan the free travel mod. I guess I am confused on where the helper bags take over from the autoride. Will the autoride not handle the trailer tounge weight? What am I looking at with out helper bags? squat while pulling? Damage to the autoride system? I thought the autoride was suposed to do what the helper bags do and I would not hesitate to add bags to a non autoride. So if I do the helper bags, can they be tied into the autoride air system? Are people doing another compressor? I only want to work on this thing once and Im a fair wrench hand so this will be a DYI project.

What we pull: 2005 Velocity performance boat. Its 29' @ 4600lbs plus aluminum trailer & 100 gallon of fuel & maybe a pair of 100lb kids if they act right. I guess it to be 6500-7000lbs behind the Hoe. We run from Kc,Mo to the Lake of the Ozarks. Hilly, Curvey, ass haulin, get to the lake trip and do that severl times a summer. The Ozark twisties would be my reason for the sway bar upgrade.

Am I missing something here? what do you guys think?

i have my ctsv with 5 people in my truck and tows perfectly fine. My ctsv with trailer is over 6000 pounds.

if you do the helper bags 60742 is the bag part number and it does not mess with the autoride system.

Load up the truck
set bags to 20 psi
Turn on the truck
autoride shocks will lift it up a little more

And your set to go. Ive set up a few like this with no issues. I wanted to test my truck without the helper bags and did its job perfect.

Ok. Im sold. Ill get with ya soon. Are the sway bars worth it fo my use? How do you air the helpers. Do they get a air nipple valve filled by home air compressor or do they tie into the on board system used for air ride. How do I set them to 20 psi.

I have the 60742s...... pics on my build.

I air mine manually using a tire guage....... I set mine at 15 psi most all the time. 25 for loads.

I have no Autoride though. :(

Sent from a black hole.

they have a shrader valve and DO NOT set them together to fill at same time. Causes air transfer which is not good. Just set it up as each bag independent

I too have an autoride 07 Burb with the 2/4 kit. Would the install of helper bags help to stiffen the rear springs a little also, if set to 15-20 lbs with no load on the rear?

If you have a 4 inch drop rear and bumpstop brackets are still on truck will ride horrible no matter what you do no travel. DJm endlinks and new bumpstops along with cutting off the bracket is the cure then you can put helper bags on.
