I'm a loyal GM owner. I will absolutely buy another GM any day of the week, especially a Tahoe.

To start off, my first car was a Ford. Never again will I own one. The damn thing could smell a good paycheck and would break. And, it was never cheap. The next experience I had with a Ford was when I was dating my wife. She acquired her grandpa's 93 ****** Wagon. In the short time she owned it the alternator failed, which can be accepted. The seatbelt track/motor failed. I had to rig it back to keep her safe, and the transmission was dying when she traded it for a new Chevy Cobalt SS sedan (2.4 Ecotec and manual trans) in 2007. We still have that car and have not experienced a single problem with it yet. However, we have a 20 month old son and she wants to start working on baby #2. She needs a bigger car. She's been looking at a new Nissan Pathfinder which has 3 rows of seating. Since I work in auto parts I know it's a great vehicle, plus it's smaller than the Tahoe, which she likes. There are a few things that stuck out to me when I was collecting quantitative data on the Pathfinder. I know that parts are more expensive when compared to the Tahoe. Also, and this one shocked me, the fuel economy for a V6 4x2 is no better than my 2007 Tahoe. The Tahoe actually gets one better on the highway. Add 4wd and the fuel economy gets slightly worse. Upgrade to a V8 and the numbers get a little more worse. In my opinion, the Tahoe is a better deal than the Pathfinder. It's larger, cheaper to maintain, and more fuel efficient than the Pathfinder. That just strengthened my belief that I made the right choice to be loyal to GM.

Additionally, my resume will show that I've sold other brands and spent 7 years in rental cars. I currently work in auto parts. I've dealt with the problems of all the other brands firsthand. GM consistently shows its superiority to me. Although I will admit that there are a few vehicles they have made that really sucked.

Really? You had a 93 ****** and your complaining about it breaking? Those cars are basically disposable, it's just like a cavalier they aren't made to last. Shit how many of the first aveo's you still see running around? And rental cars?! Those are ragged out fleet vehicles... I had an 05 impala that started falling apart in 07 with 75k on it and it was well maintained... Had a 98 mustang GT that was the same way... I don't understand loyalty to a manufacturer... What do they do for you? I look at every vehicles pro's and cons. I really could care less what badge is on the grill. Every vehicle has its quirks but if your too simple minded to see that then go ahead and bash manufacturers that you feel are inferior if it makes you feel better...

This is why I said I am not loyal to any brand.

Actually my 99 Ford F150 never had any issues, even with all the mods I had done to it, which were actually everthing I have done to my Tahoe plus some. If someone didnt hit me I would still have it. I have had Fords, Dodges, Chevys, GMCs, Oldsmobiles, Pontiacs, Hondas and Subarus. None of them, well beside the CRV (which turned out to be a lemon) gave me any issues at all.

Loyalty belongs to your family, wife children mother and father, not a car manufacturer.

I loved my F-150's had 2 97 models and still have my sisters old 00 4x4, had over 200k on all of them... Only replaced 1 transmission but that was my fault, they aren't made to power shift lol(was my first stick) had a 94 suburban that never left me stranded. My favorite car was an 09 Mazdaspeed 3, lil station wagon put 320hp to the wheels.

My 07 5.7 Tundra had to get a new long block at 55k due to valvetrain issues, dealership never did give me a clear answer on what happened.

I like driving the Hoe now, it's a cruiser and keeps me from speeding

Hah, me to. My 99 was a beast. It had a Level X tranny with billet torque converter, every bolt-on you could imagine and then some, never mind the built suspension. It actually drove/handled more like a car. If I knew then what I know now, I'd still have it. It had about 170k miles. My main goal for my Tahoe was to do the same thing. Only problem, they dont make any bolt-on performance suspension components and the steering just plain sucks. Other than that its a beast, especially with the new tranny/converter. Its a good driver/beach cruiser.
My Hoe has left me starnded shit, 5 times last year.
I'm a big fan of those Mazdaspeed 3s, pretty sharp looking car to.
Those Tundras are nice, havent done much reading about them though. Didnt expect them to have any major issues. A goof freind of mine traded his F150 for a 4 door Tundra, damn nice truck, if I do say so myself.

Dont get me wrong, I like my Tahoe. I have had it for 5 years and dumped quite a bit into it. BUT, if someone came by with the right price, I wouldnt think twice, I'd sell it. After what I went through to get it, I know I could find another if need be :) .

Only because there's too many nanny's on it... My tundra has auto LSD when you turn traction control off but stability control stays on and it cuts power when you spin over 30mph. If you turn the stability control off you can't turn the LSD on. If your in mud and the back starts walking out it freaks out and starts hitting the breaks to straighten it back out... Have 400hp and 4.30 gears but can't use it the way I want
