Hi All,

I recently purchased a 2015 LS Tahoe with the base radio. From my experience thus far, I can't stream music over Bluetooth and I can't use my steering wheel controls to access my contacts from my iPhone 6.

To stream music, I have to plug my iPhone into the USB port. Not ideal considering the cost of a Tahoe, but okay, I can live with this.

What I'm really frustrated with is the fact that I can't use the steering wheel controls to access contacts within my iPhone. When using the steering wheel controls, I can only access the onboard radio phone book - not my iPhone contacts. However, my iPhone contacts are being sent to the radio via Bluetooth but I can only access them using the radio controls. (I have to scroll through the contacts using the radio controls - very unsafe while driving!)

I called Chevrolet tech support and spoke to someone and the guy said something about the OnStar Bluetooth interfering with my iPhone Bluetooth??? He went on to say that sometimes the Bluetooth will work and sometimes it won't. Not a very good educated answer, in my opinion.

I'm curious to learn what other LS users are finding. Is there a problem with my radio, or is this a complete oversight on the part of Chevrolet to put basic Bluetooth controls in a $48,000 car?

I'm at a point where I want rip the stock radio out and install an aftermarket radio that will provide the basic Bluetooth controls one would expect from a 40 something thousand dollar car... but this option opens a whole new can of worms.

Thanks in advance for any insight!

You know, I just realized my LS is the same way!

I rented a 2015 'Burb LT and it would let you do the actions you describe. That one had the upgraded radio though that does BT streaming.

I agree that GM really missed the mark with making the LS have such a craptastic radio. BT is standard in damn near every car on the market and they all stream audio and integrate with contacts. I can't believe these nearly $50k rigs can't do that
