Is there a Yukon with skid plates? or, do they have a different name for an offroad package?
No off-road package available on the Yukon and there hasn’t ever been to my knowledge.

Currently there is a dealer instslled accessory skid plate that can be equipped:

Maybe you guys can help me.

I'm looking to replace my 2011 Ram 2500 Turbo diesel 4x4 with something that doesn't feel as heavy, something that I would feel more comfortable taking offroad, and something with the third row seating (otherwise I would get a jeep). Lastly, I can't afford a brand new Tahoe Z71. So I must go used, but I also want something with lower miles to reduce the possibility that I get something that's been "overly" abused, lol. I know a Tahoe won't be able to beat the towing capacity of my truck, and yes I bought the truck so I could tow a camper around, but it hasn't been done. My dad is always towing it with his 1 ton. So, I'm tired of waiting, and want to get something a little more "sporty" and less "utility", if that makes any sense.

What year models are safe bets? What year models should I avoid? What mileage range should I avoid? Are there certain year models with features or equipment that other year models did not have that I might want?

Geez, I've been searching in Autotrader and there's so little available within 50 miles of Dallas.

When I was looking, everything was in Dallas and around that area. I ended up finding my Denali in Temple. I couldn’t find anything for a good price in the Houston area

So, I'm not really seeing any options for a Z71 Tahoe in my area. I guess I'm not really interested in looking halfway across the state. My question is, would a Z71 Tahoe be much different from a Regular Tahoe if I put Rancho shocks on, a skid plate, and some A/T tires on a 17" wheel?

The biggest reason I found to go with a z71 is to get the 2 speed transfer case. The only other way to get that is with the max trailering package. I have been seeing z71’s popping up pretty regular. Get the cars.com app, and search there. You can save searches and just search a couple of times a day

The two speed transfer case, isn't that just 4 LO and 4 HI? I thought all 4WD Tahoes had that.
