Just bought a '99 LT 4-Door Tahoe with a 5.7L and had the SES light come on. Ran 4 catalyst system codes, so I checked underneath....
As I thought, a previous owner had cut the cats off and welded in straight pipe. The O2 sensors are still there, but I'm sure they are no good.
Yesterday, I ordered the Magnaflow 23453 Cats along with 4 new O2 sensors and gaskets.
As far as I can see, it looks like a straight forward job, but that leads to my question:
Has anyone done this and had any clearance issues? Does anyting else need to be removed? Any advice is great, cause I really can't find anyting on the net about it.
PS: All the factory exhaust flanges are still there, they were not modified.
