I have a 2007 Yukon 5.3L (127,000 miles) that is stock or was til today. One of my offices is 98.3 miles from my house, mostly 65mph driving with a few small town 35-45mph's along the way. I drive this regularly and have been getting roughly 18.3-18.4 mpg.

Today I went and had a Magnaflow 14" muffler (part# 11235) installed and had the resonator eliminated too.

Other than the initial smell everything is great. The sound is good but not overbearing. Today upon my return home I got 20.3mpg's. I know that my driving style is the same because I'm currently doing the Progressive Snapshot program and trying to keep it close to the posted speed limits.

Is this actually a true improvement in mpg's or is this a first day anomaly? I will continue to monitor this but I'm satisfied with this increase if it stays true.

I also ordered the Volant CAI this afternoon and plan to get a Black Bear tune after that. Is there any other simple bolt on's that anyone would recommend before getting the tune? I want to make sure that I have all my mods completed before I get tuned. I know there are lots of threads recommending what to do but I figured I'd give you guys and gals something to talk about on a Thursday night.

You must of been easy on the throttle. WHen i got my magnaflow, I kept Romping on it lol.

Another Mod to think about before the BB is a corvette servo. It will help with shifts and it goes great with the tune

The transmission component that is from the Corvette which leads to tighter shifts and some performance gains very minimal

I have to say that after my recent BB tune, my shifts have tightened up to the point that I'm thinking I can live happily without the Vette servo.
