I think I'll do it. Anyone with an 09 wanna measure how tall their chrome strip is on their door moldings? It's probably 1" but I need a good precise measurement.

The 09+ LTZ moldings are not that expensive. They are $72 for the fronts and $45 for the rear doors. Then you have to have them painted so I would say all together $400-500 which would be better then a rigged job. There are sites that offer the chrome strips that you can put on top of your current as well http://www.ronusa.com/body_side_molding.shtm#Pricing

Where the hell have you found those prices?! The dealer told me they were several hundred each, and even GM part sites say the same. Unless you weren't looking at OEM ones, because that would make a big difference.

Thanks for the link btw but I don't really like those. Plus last time I bought some chrome molding overlays that supposedly came looking like the 09's, it didn't turn out well. I don't want anything universal.

Ya not big on the overlays either they are the same as the roll of chrome tape you get from the auto parts store, lol.

Those are the prices from gmpartsdirect.com I have all the part #'s written down at home. I'll post them tonight for you.

Really? Awesome that'd be cool if they are that price.

And yeah, I know what you're talking about for that roll of chrome tape. But, this is a molded piece that is specific for Tahoes so I have a little bit more...confidence in this than the cheesy tape.

But I'd be glad to see some part numbers. :D

WOW. Thanks LTZBoy. :D

Guess I'll go shove this in the dealer's face and see why they were wanting to charge hundreds for each piece.

But how can you tell it has the chrome insert? It seems awfully cheap and the description only says "MOLDING". I'd hate to buy it and then they would come in without chrome.

It is what the parts department from GM parts direct quoted for the 09+ LTZ's. You can always verify from your local dealer. They should provide you the part numbers for the moldings and the prices for each. I have yet to order them for mine, but I plan too.
