I hear that vinyl holds up pretty well actually. I'm sure you'd be fine if you got it now and maybe the installer has some sort of an extended warranty for it that you could get.

Vinyl wraps do not hold up anywhere close to as good as paint does. Even matte/flat painted cars hold up better. They can easily tear from car washes and rocks that would normally scratch paint.I hear that vinyl holds up pretty well actually.
