I like the way this Denali on 20x12 with 305/55/20 looks.

While I, on the other hand, despise the way the tires are stretched out. On 20x10's, they might look ok. On a 12" wide rim, I'd at least go to a 325/50/20.

I've got some 20x8.5 GMC sierra wheels, and I'm debating on going tall and skinny (295/65/20 - 35.4" x 11.6"), a little wider (325/60/20 - 35.4" x 12.8") or running 35x12.5x20 (about 34.6" x 12.5", comparable to a 315/60/20), or a little wider 35x13.50x20 (34.6" x 13.5" - close to a 345/50/20).

Not sure what stretched your talking about. Tires look fine to me, 12" wide rim with 12.5" tires... no stretching :2cents:

The pic u posted, Those rims n 305/50/20 tires looks goofy on a skinny 8.5" wheel if u ask me.like you had to squeeze them on the rim and they could pop off.

Most tires are typically about 2-3" wider than the rim they are put on. that's why if you look on ANY tire, there is a bead around the inside of the tire, edge of that bead is designed to extend over the lip of the wheel, and to protect it. If you look at almost any tire from any manufacturer, it clearly states the recommended wheel width. In the case of the Cooper STT Pros above, all three tires should be used on wheels from 8.5-11" wide. They show what width wheel they were installed on when the spec measurements were taken.

I'm pretty sure installing tires on wheel widths outside the recommended would void any type of warranty you might have. Shops may do it, and the shop may warranty the tire in-house, but the stretched look isn't for me. A 12" wide tire on a 10" wheel, that's about as far as I'd go. I'd have to run something like 38x15.5's for a tire to look good (to me) on a 12" wide wheel.
