Update: Dealer installed the 22” from the 21 Premier to the 22 Z71. Some question about clearance but as described before he installed fronts. Took a quick test drive with tech driving and me listening and no unusual n oases, no binding or scrubbing. Flashed TPMS and normal. A momentary “Leveling System Unavailable“ message in the DIC. Defaulted to Normal ride height… wouldnt lower or raise. I took it to the local “Rain Locker”. After shutting down there and a couple of restaart cycles. (Engine OFF/ON/OFF/ON). Fault cleared and ran Amur suspension through all modes and worked as advertised/described. I think it was a matter of the Air suspension getting used to the new Shoes and Socks.

In case you are joining us in progress to recap. The wheels are the Gloss Black version of the 22” wheel option av ailable on the 2021 and 22 Pfemier…”TX Edition”. Same pattern as the OEM just powder coated gloss black. Had this not worked I probably would have gone with one of the 20” Sierra/Silverado options.

Looks good!

But again, its a factory/oem tire size for these vehicles, why would it have not worked?

My main concern was even though the Tahoe platform option the Z71 might be slightly lower since they only offer one tire size. Sounds like all models are built for the potential of 22” so clearance might be based on that. If your only running 18”or 20’s then that much more fenderwell space. The 22”s fill in the gap much better.

The tire size is relatively the same…regardless of wheel size.

If you compare stock gm tire sizes a 275/60r20 tire is just slightly taller than a 275/50r22 so technically the 20” setup would fill in more real estate than the 22’s but they’re pretty much the same size

The only issue I could see slight rubbing with is possibly when down in the lowest/parked mode. Otherwise it seems like the air ride models almost sit a bit higher for the most part, at least when driving.
Thanks for the inspiration. Went and got a set of Open Country AT3’s installed today. I can confirm for anyone wondering if there’s any rubbing with 305/45r22 on the 2021/22 Yukons and Tahoes w/ adaptive air ride. There is no rubbing whatsoever even with the air suspension actively changing ride height, and even at full lock.

Are they e rated? Do you mind sharing what you paid and where? Having a hard time finding that size

No, they are the XL’s. A lot less tread depth, lighter and all around better suited for a people hauling street machine in my opinion. I think i paid somewhere around $1600 for the set installed at discount tire.

These ones are not E rated, but they do make an LT285/50R22. I bought mine through a local mom and pop tire shop. Checked with Big O, WheelWorks, and Americas Tire; all said it was back ordered nationwide. The small shop I went through likely had a different distributor, they sourced 3 tires from one warehouse and 1 tire from another. I guess I lucked out.
