^^ I just placed an order (in Canada) for Z71 with max tow/Lux/2nd row buckets and my dealer advised that it did not look like any of the options were under constraint. The order has not yet been picked up, however. I was quoted 3-6 months for delivery.

I'm in a similar situation as you, I actually ordered a Land Rover Defender back in August '22 which was supposed to be delivered in December, then April '23 then August '23 so I cancelled that and ordered the Tahoe. I was upfront with my sales guy that I'll do the same if GM screws around with never ending delays and he assured me that they would know if anything was constrained and we could remove it from the build.
I am in Canada also. I just ordered a Denali with out max tow and my dealer told me max tow was on constraint rest of stuff no constraints.

Hopefully it's less than 6 months for you. That would mean things are improving. I wish you luck in your 2nd attempt to buy a car at sticker like the rest of us. Something we used to go to the dealer and do on a saturday, and pay something around invoice, finance at 2%, get all the options we wanted, and leave with the car that day, has now become: order from a dealer that will take your call and hopefully not pay a deposit, indicate which options you want but are willing to not get (and receive a massive $50 credit for an option they would charge you $500 for), agree to pay full MSRP and then wait an unknowable amount of time while rates rise and prices inflate.

It's somewhat ironic. I've been driving around a 2008 accord for all these years, thinking I was being fiscally responsible and getting as much out of the car as I could, even when it has been an inconvenience for my family. And when I finally give up the ghost because the repairs are getting too expensive, I do so right in the teeth of a pandemic that makes a new car cost so much money that it negates a good chunk of any savings built up putting off that new car purchase. Such is life I suppose.

Thanks hopefully both of our orders get processed in a timely manner moving forward. One thing to note, when referencing the "max tow" are we talking about the "Max Trailering Package" which includes the trailer brake controller, or the "Enhanced Trailering Technology Package" which includes the auxiliary trailer camera, trailering assist guidelines etc.? Are both under constraint?

Edit:

In my build I have the following option codes and descriptions are pulled from the build and price tool:

NHT - Max Trailering Package
  • Enhanced Cooling Radiator
  • Advanced Trailering Package
  • Smart Trailer Integration Indicator
  • Integrated trailer brake controller
  • Hitch Guidance with Hitch View

ZL6 - Advanced Trailering Package
  • Hitch Guidance with Hitch View1
  • Trailer brake controller
  • Smart Trailer Integration Indicator
  • Premier and High Country models also include Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert1
  • May require additional optional equipment

And then on the Yukon builder:

ZM1 - Enhanced Trailering Technology Package
  • Trailer Tire Pressure and Temperature Sensors
  • Auxiliary Trailer Camera
  • Trailering assist guidelines
  • Inside/Rear Trailer Camera Input

Changing Enhanced Trailering Technology Package
  • Trailer Tire Pressure and Temperature Sensors
  • Auxiliary Trailer Camera
  • Trailering assist guidelines
  • Inside/Rear Trailer Camera Input
So it looks like the main difference is the enhanced cooling, yes? That can be easily remedied in the aftermarket. However, a trailer brake controller that's integrated with the stability control system like the factory one can't be added later, so that's helpful to know.

Yes, as much as I'd like an integrated TBC, I'm buying the pack in case I ever tow, I don't have anything to tow now. So if it's under constraint, it'll come off the build.

To the best of my knowledge, only ZM1 is not available (since at least August). It was made available on the Escalade just before Christmas which I'm hopeful means it will be available in the next couple months on the Yukon.

Ah that would make sense. So NHT Max trailering and ZL6 Advanced Trailering would not be under constraint and available to order. Hopefully.

I got a 2023 Yukon Denali Duramax in February 2023 with “Max Trailering Package”. Seems to include “Trailer Side Blind Zone Alert” and “Hitch Guidance with Hitch View.” Did not seem to change the vehicle ratings.
