X2, no way in hell Iwould take delivery of that vehicle.
@EyeDreamt
Have you signed any documents stating you took delivery of the vehicle? I would be talking to a lawyer right now
Well guess the e-mails got some attention.. got two phone calls late this afternoon. First was the Regional Director for the southwest and central region informing me her team was looking into exactly where my vehicle is and how they can get it to me ASAP. She seemed quite concerned with how the dealer had handled the sale, essentially forcing the up front purchase rather than holding on a deposit. She said she hadn't been able to reach the GM for the dealer to dig into it as he was apparently out today. She shared that she has actually been on the floor of the plant and personally pulled random vehicles for quality testing during this roll-out. I gather she is low level enough to be involved in actual operations, but high up enough to be able to make things happen.
She also said there are no notes or indication that this "mayfly issue" has affected my vehicle and any mention of that from the dealer is pure speculation at this point. Which is what I thought may be the case, just the dealer throwing out an excuse to get a customer to stop asking where the vehicle is and why it hasn't moved for a month.
The second call was from a manager with the GM Executive Customer Relations team - basically the guy that handles it when a customer complains to the executive team... I guess e-mailing the VP of customer relations got forwarded to him. He just said he was looking into finding out an eta - didn't sound like he cared much or had any knowledge of the regional director conversation.
So, things are at least happening. We will see where it goes from here, but I expect the dealership manager is in for some fun conversations tomorrow.
