MD Drivers: Repeal the Two Plate Law

This issue pisses me off. I have gotten 2 "fix it" tickets for no front plate on 2 different cars. In the old days you just fixed it and got an officer to write it off and sent in the ticket. Now, you have to go to the police office to get it written off, and they charge you, and you have to go to the court house to turn in the citation, and they charge you as well.
On top of that, half of the new cars sold today don't even have a place to mount a front plate. WTF is that all about?

Like I said guys. Giant money making scam for the cops and has nothing to do with public safety. Also gives them a reason to stop you and snoop around on a witch hunt for tint, plate lights out, etc. Needs to be repeal in EVERY state.

Short story real quick...I got pulled over by a cop one time (small town) for my dirty license plate cuz he couldn't see it and I hadn't had a chance to wash my truck (winter time). This was the second time in 2 weeks this same cop had pulled me over for it. When he came back up with my ticket as I was signing I made a comment to the affect of "It's good to know that you're out here fighting the real crime and getting the bad guys off the street and all". Apparently, he didn't like that too much. He ended up being arrested because as I pulled away he jumped back in his car and made up a story that I'd pulled away too quick and "kicked rocks" on his car (my wheels never even spun). So from then on I've always made sure BOTH plates were cleaned!!

Sounds like a guy that needs to get laid.

I'll show you how I clean my plates when I get them dirty next week.

As for the original issue, I don't care either way. Like has been said, they should worry about something that matters, like real crime.

I don't even have a front licesnse plate bracket on my truck...
