So its kinda a long story but here it goes.

I bought a perihperal ipod adapter from crutchfield and installed it the next day. I ran the positive to the THICK ORANGE WIRE and the ground to the BLACK WIRE WITH THE WHITE STRIPE. The wires were located in the back of my 6 disk bose headunit. I set the dip switches to 1,2,8 and tucked it away. The adapter sounded great and everything worked until...... While i would drive the truck would stall out and the start back up by itself. The locks would trigger on there own also. The truck died overnight for 3 days. I finally took it out and called crutchfield. They said that the box may be bad and that i should blow on the dip switches to get the "dust out"

After driving the truck with no problems i decided to install it again with the help of a crutchfield advisor named Randy. He walked me through the process to make sure i did everything right. About mid way through the install i turned the truck on to test it but nothing happened. I locked and unlocked the truck and tried again. I got power but an "unknown driver" message. Ive seen this message before when the truck died while driving. So i looked in the back of the headunit and the ground cable wasent in the clip all the way. I reset it and was on my way. I drove the truck about 10 mins. and the truck was stalling out. I would turn the key one click to get power and the next for AC and gauges but when i went the next click to start, nothing happened, the gauges just reset themselves. So took the truck back home and took the adapter out.
Thursday
The truck had been running get and i was finally starting to get my Diablo tune dialed in (hard to believe in know). I went out to lunch and then went to class. An hour later I come out to go home and the truck did the same thing. Power and air but no starting. So i thought it may be the tune so i installed the original tune on the predator but still no starting. I had to call onstar. They came and jumped the truck up with a jump pack no problem. The truck drove fine the way home. I brought it to STS to see if they could figure it out but they had no idea on only pulled codes (Ill give you them later) They said that they were body codes and there was a computer malfunction.
The codes
41026-Loss Class 2 comm
41041-Loss of RBCM EBTCM Communication
(The numbers are right but im pretty sure the letters are wrong, i couldn't read their handwriting)
I was confused when they pulled the codes because i didnt get a CEL on the dash.
So..... I called crutchfield again to let them know and they said that they had sold me the right adapter and it was a problem with the truck. I called Pac audio ( the maker of the adapter) and they said crutchfield sold me the wrong adapter and that they don't make an adapter for 6 disk bose trucks. I called crutchfield and got my money back. But it wasent over.....
Today
I looked over the crutchfield site to see if they had listed anywhere that the adapter (ISGM73) was not compatible with my truck but it said nothing. Even the advisor (Randy) had said that it was the right one. So now im pissed because not only is the website wrong but the advisors are wrong too.
What I want
I want Crutchfield to pay for everything to get fixed once i have proof that a GM tech says that the problem came from the adapter. I already have 2 counts false advertising. (I took about 30 screen shots from both websites walking you through the ordering process to prove that it does not say anything about a 6 disk changer.
What Crutchfield said
They said that they would be willing to take my claim if i write a full statement on the install and a statement from the GM tech saying that the wrong adapter caused the computer malfunction. The only problem was that he said the adapter has nothing to do with the computer and the wrong adapter would not cause any problems even if properly installed. I argued but he kept his ground.
So long story short i have evidence of them selling me the wrong adapter and admitting that it was wrong. The only thing i dont have is the proof that the adapter caused all the problem. The truck has been running great since Thursday. I was hopping that Jenna or Justin could clarify things that would help the GM tech write a statement for me.
