Hey guys,

Still going over the big debate in my head about how to do a sub install in the Tahoe. I've gotten a price of $850 for a Stealthbox and Orion amp install from my local shop. While i know that'll sound great, the price is a little steep for me.

I looked at the MTX Thunderform box that goes behind the rear panel, and while I'm not a big fan of MTX subs, the amplified version does appeal to me for the simplicity of the installation, and MTX bass is better than no bass at all, right? Plus if the sub sounds like crap or craps out, I can replace it with another 10" that'll fit the box's specs down the road.

I'm still toying with the idea of building a box to fit the old RF 8" I've got in my garage. It served me well in the Grand before I picked up the Stealthbox in there, but not sure if I can build a box to fit it right either in the factory sub location or in the rear panel. The good news is this sub will work just fine in a sealed box as small as .1 cubic feet.

Does anyone have any pictures of the rear panel removed, or maybe a write-up of how to remove it so I can see the actual space I'm working with? Also, if anyone has any pictures of the center console's underside...maybe even the measurements of the factory Bose sub unit, can you please post?

Thanks in advance.
