Hey all,

So now that's i have 'fixed' the recline issue on the driver seat I want to address another problem with the seat...erratic function of the seats forward and backward function.

Here is what is happening. The seat will work fine for a period of time then suddenly will stop working all together. Then, after some time, it will start working again but sometimes the buttons will be reversed. That is, when asking the seat to go forward it goes backward and vice versa. Also, if the seat is all the way forward it will often stop about half way when moving it back. Playing with it I can often get it to go all the way back but, when it gets about 3/4 of the way, the buttons usually reverse themselves.

does this sound like a bad memory seat module?

There is a TSB for the button reversal issue that states that the seat module should be reprogrammed to fix it. It apparently is a problem with the seat position sensor giving an out-of-range value and corrupting the software. I had this problem a couple of years ago, and fortunately, I have the equipment (a Tech2 scanner) necessary for reprogramming the module. Mine has given me no more problems since reprogramming. However, without a Tech2 you would need to go to a GM dealer to get it done, or know someone that has one. I am not certain whether reprogramming will solve the other problems or not.

I just don’t want to spend $100 + for gym to program it only to find out that is not the problem...
