Messed w crankshaft, now knock sensor code

Hey I have 5.3 2006 Tahoe w an oil leak. A buddy of mine tried to help and thought the leak was coming from under the front bottom lip of timing cover Bc oil drip originating above oil pan and starts at front. That's not the biggest problem now. Ever since he pulled the crankshaft, I NOW get knock sensor 2 code p0332 eveytime I go above 60mph. I don't hear any knock coming from engine and it accelerates and drives fine. My question is, is there any chance he reinstalled the crankshaft incorrectly and that's now causing the knock sensor to go off? Thinking somehow it's causing some pre-detonation and that's what's tripping the knock sensor? I'm not too skilled w the internals and would appreciate any help. Thx

Easiest thing to do is check the connector. Also check that there is not any oil pooled up in it. I had a similar problem wiTh a civic crank code. Turns out when the tbelt was done, coolant got caught in the connector causing crank codes

I know the knock sensors are common in these. I just did mine, and the intake has to come off to replace them. Might as well do the pair, the harness, and cam position sensor while you are at it. Get the good intake gaskets as well.

I've heard a lot of ppl say this. That rhese sensors Can get in contact w water and corrode and go bad. My q is this. If they're going off when I hit 60 and then when I clear the codes, they don't go off again until I go over 60, aren't they actually doing they're job and suggesting that there actually is some knock or detonation that needs to be addressed?? I've always been told that a sensor that goes off indicates a real problem and not just a bad sensor that needs replacement. Have ur sensors not gone off since u replaced them??

Also, which gasket is good. Acdelco?

Well when you clear codes, the vehicle has to go through a drive cycle to reset the monitors. The check engine light fails cars for emissions that are obd2. For diagnostics we have had to clear codes and drive the cars, usually get them on the highway over 55 for a period of time to get the monitors to reset. Since your problem is still current, once the sensor fault is detected, the light comes back on. If the sensor was reading properly, it would make appropriate corrections to the engine to keep it running smoothly. What is happening is the computer is detecting a problem with the sensor, either a short circuit or something out of normal operating parameters. When I pulled my intake off, the rubber gasket on the harness was lifted from the block and the sensor was so corroded I'm glad it didn't break off when I went to remove it.

i guess everryone missed the last question
yes it is very possible he installed the crankshaft wrong but usually when the crank isnt timed correclty with the camshaft it usually results in much worse consequences like bent valves
usually you mark the timing gears before you take them off so u know exactly what position to put it in when you replace or reinstall it
but like i said when the timing goes awry in the cam and crank its usuallly a catastrophic failure or hell it maynot even start

Great thanks. Engine seems to be running fine, so hopefully it's just a bad sensor. Going to get it changed this week.
