I was able to locate a denali about 1500 kms away that the customer passed on. Original order was for an SLT.

The only catch is it has dark ash and dark walnut interior with 20" wheels. Obviously I havnt seen it, and am worried I won't like the interior in person. Having a hard time committing to it.

Anyone seen them in person and like it?

Something must be happening down in Texas. The number of 3.0's showing in transit on the GMC site has jumped way up. prior to this week I only saw about 12 listed, today its 150+ within 2K of me. The VINs on some of them from 28XXXX to 34XXXXX. They must be clearing out the Midlothian lot.

It’s always been my understanding that they don’t show up as in transit on the dealer or Chevy site until they are completely ready to go and have a window sticker. And that status 4300 is often times code for “waiting for a chip”.

Maybe I don’t know what I’m talking about but it seems like there are two kinds of delays - missing chips and actual shipping delays. Missing chips are “produced” with a VIN but have no WS. The ones with actual shipping delays are produced with a VIN and window sticker and legitimately waiting for a ride.
Definitely makes sense...

This is great! Last 2 months you haven’t seen more than 10 Dmax in transit out of TX. I got my update from dealer yesterday, still 4D00 for 3rd week. Sitting in Midlothian since right after production on 5/13. Fingers crossed for Labor Day Delivery? At this point I may be lucky to beat first snow of season in CO…

believe that dealers can mark them as "sold" and that'll remove it off both their website and GM's....

ours sat out on the website for a month, and then disappeared the day it hit the dealer's lot...we didn't pick it up/actually buy it until 5-6 days later...

think it all depends on what the dealer's objective is...try and drive traffic to the website and get people to call in and switch them to a used vehicle or get them to order one....or do they want to completely avoid all the people calling/emailing
As of 7/1, GM no longer allows dealers to code a vehicle as "sold" until the customer actually receives it.

So now all of the vehicles on the Chevy or GM inventory sites that show "in transit" should be built, have a WS, are not missing chips/parts or have a later retrofit. Those vehicles are actually in transit or are waiting for transit.

Those same vehicles should be on the dealers' sites as well.

Long story short. I called the GM escalation number on 7/18. They were not able to assist in any fashion and actually gave me incorrect info. I sent a Karen'eque email to Mary Barra shortly after.

I coincidentally checked my dealer's website and an exact build of my 2022 5.3L Z71 Suburban (different color, black) popped up on their website. It has a WS, shows on the Chevy inventory site and available in VINview on a railcar heading east to Florida. I contacted my salesman to ask if I could apply my down-payment from 7/2 to this one instead of the midnight blue one that I "purchased" on 7/2. The midnight blue is still sitting in the MID lot with 3800 since 6/23.

Sales rep said he would ask the sales manager on 7/19 when he is back in the office. The same GM escalation rep who I spoke to on 7/18 called me on the morning of 7/19 and said GM received my email and they are escalating my case. She again gave me incorrect info about the location of my truck and couldn't explain why it was still bayed in the MID lot. She said it might be missing chips but admitted she was only speculating.

I received a text from the sales rep later that afternoon that I could purchase the black Z71! Finally a bit of good news. VINview shows a delivery date of 8/8. What is odd is that it was built AFTER the midnight blue Z71. The midnight blue had a 3800 code as of 6/23 then moved to MID lot on 6/24. I was not able to get the event history for the black one but its VIN is -360XXX. The VIN for the midnight blue is -339XXX.

I am assuming some chips were delivered to the Arlington plant during the time that the black one was still on the assembly line and they were able to build it close to completion. This is all speculation but it kind of makes sense to me. So now the trucks sitting in MID lot were moved there due to missing parts/chips. I believe they have to be moved back to the Arlington plant for the missing parts to be installed. Or could those parts be installed on the lot?

Just wanted to share those data points and my experience with this purchase so far. I won't be relieved until I can finally add it onto my insurance policy and see it in my driveway.

Here is where I'm at. We had a 2015 Yukon SLT that we were trading in. The transmission was starting to go, we did not want to put $7000 into a vehicle we were getting rid of when we had a vehicle in transit (thinking this was not going to be a long process), so it was sold at auction by a friend of ours who is a dealer. I have been driving my husbands truck since.

I have been waiting on a White Frost Denali that has been produced since March and GM Chat tells me is in Midlothian (where new vehicles go to die). There is no window sticker and it has not showed up on the dealers website. In the past few days, three Yukons have shown up on the gmc site as in transit to my local dealership, a White Frost SLT, a Metallic Blue SLT and a Black Denali. I messaged the chat and they stated that the White Frost SLT and Black Denali are produced and IN TRANSIT. The metallic blue is only produced. At this point, I will be taking whatever shows up first, because let's be honest, none of these vehicles have all the options that we are truly looking for to begin with (we wanted the rear media system).

Has anyone had an actual vehicle in transit with a window sticker show up at their dealer and have a timeframe as to what that looked like??
