If mine don’t arrive in the next 2-3 weeks they can keep it and refund my deposit so that I can get one off another dealer lot

So I’ve officially given up on the two Tahoes that I had deposits on, one sitting in Midlothian since 4/12 and the other since 7/6. Put a deposit on a 2023 Surburban that is the exact build I wanted and is in transit to the dealer with an eta of 8/25. It had just popped up on their website today when I texted my salesman. They are few and far between, but there are still some unclaimed vehicles hitting the lots! And if someone wants a 2023 Suburban Premier, I know of one available in Charlotte, NC. I have the build sheet if interested!

I have also given up on my white frost yukon denali that has been in Midlothian for months and months. I am taking possession of a black yukon Denali today after dealing with this nonsense for close to 6 months. I did not want black, as it is difficult to keep clean and looking sharp, but I'm done waiting and will deal with the color. Good luck to everyone else. This denali that came on the lot was just from the dealers allocation and was built and sent to the dealer in less than 2 months. I'll take that over the one that has been built since March sitting in 110 degree heat....that is no longer new.

Depending on how this develops, I may just wait until late 2023 or into 2024 before I order to give GM an opportunity to un-ass the situation. If they can't I'll consider a competitor.

This is crazy what's happening with all these vehicles stuck in a parking lot. I haven't really been following this thread but wonder what happens when GM finally gets all of them delivered and many of them are no longer desired because the customer either gave up or bought something else. I assume the dealer doesn't have to disclose that a particular suv has been sitting in the hot sun for months, like they are supposed to when a vehicle suffers some damage. Maybe it isn't a big deal but if I were buying a vehicle, I'd like to know if it was fresh from the factory or sitting somewhere for months and months.

@esbrittain glad you found a vehicle. Can I ask what the build is?

It’s a summit white 5.3L LT with LT signature plus package and 2nd row bucket seats.

It goes to dealer inventory and sold as part of dealer inventory. But it has the effect of reducing the backlog of orders indirectly.

I'm interested to see if any of those stuck in the sun for months on end wind up eventually getting marked down since 23s seem to be coming out comparatively quicker.

I think it’s doubtful… unless they are sitting on lots come early next year.
