Minor Audio System Build

So, I previously upgraded to a Sony XAV-AX5000 with the full RP5-GM11 PAC kit to maintain the stock amp and speakers... planning to upgrade later on.

Well, that didn't last long because now I've already started buying more stuff. I wanted to see if there was any advice about wiring and if my plans make any sense (or will work).

Here's what I have put together (with assistance from Crutchfield reps):

4 x Kicker CS 6.5 coaxials with harnesses and hookups from Crutchfield
1 x Kicker CXA300.4 4 channel amp
1 x Rockford Fosgate P300.12 powered sub
1 x 4 ch RCA's for the amp input from the headunit
1 x 2 ch RCA for the sub
1 x Crutchfield 4 gauge 2 amp wiring kit
1 x Speedwire 9 wire bundle

So, based on this setup i'm planning on retaining the stock speaker wiring. My plan (right or wrong) is as follows...

Drill a hole through the firewall to run the amp wiring since the stock wiring harness is apparently tough to take apart (dual sealed) and put in a rubber grommet to protect the wire / seal it up.

Install amp under a rear seat (captain's chairs), after putting a piece of MDF under the carpet (attached with velcro tape to the floor of the car) and then screwing the amp into the MDF. Wire the speedwire from the speaker level connections from the stock amp in the console (since I'll be using the RCA's for the input, I would only need to splice in for the speaker outs).

If I do this, can i just keep the BOSE amp for the console sub, tweeters, and rear pillar speakers? Then my amp will power the 4 door speakers? Or will plugging in the RCA's result in the headunit bypassing the speaker level connections?

There already is a hole in fire wall for factory wires that u can use under the steering wheel. No need to drill me holes... just being honest but kicker and Rockford are low end crap, your bose will prly sound better.

But yea u can do what u listed you wanted to do

Wow, I didn't think they could possibly be any worse than the stock Bose.

Anybody else have any thoughts? I'll look for the loom under the steering wheel.

The stock stereo is actually pretty decent. The low end is lacking, but that's about the only complaint I have with it. I found a pretty substantial increase in sound quality after I replaced the deck in mine

the only way your going to beat the bose speakers is with a component set like the infiniti kappa series and even that is only going to be "comparable", unless you plan on dumping a good chunk of change into the system and the only other advice I can give you is when you install it (presuming you do it yourself) run the power wires for the amp(s) down the left side of the vehicle and run the audio wires down the right side, use GOOD quality shielded wires, otherwise your going to regret it and have to do it all over again.
