Misfiring issue

You said oe do you mean oe style or ac delco? I was referring to original style but different brands. Cardone crab style (oe) cap and rotor seem to be iffy if you got a good one. I have the bmd brand on mine atm and it works fine im not sure besides and original ac delco brand which works well on our engines. Also if it mostly happens when your stuck in traffic or other similar situations double check to make sure your plug wires are strapped up properly in the factory wire holders and rnt sitting on something they shouldn't be.

I already got my wires taken care of, sorry meant to say "yea" everything is new with less than 1000 miles not AC delco though except for the plugs

to me it looks like they have to large of a gap
did you check to see if the plugs had the proper gap
i remember when i changed mine and they said they were pre gapped but when i checked none of them were gapped to .40 they were all .05 to .10 off

Yea the gap is right I checked them all before putting them in

I stand corrected. I looked up the dizzy & ignition system in the factory manual and it's an "HVS" system. I believe HVS=high voltage switch but I didn't find the acronym in the index.

DallasTahoe: Those parts look awful for 1K miles. Do you have any additional info on your current coil? I'm wondering if the coil is too "hot", burning up the cap & rotor which, in turn, causes the plugs to load up. Sounds a bit farfetched however, my '98 had a partially melted distributor cap when I bought her. I believe it was from the MSD "Blaster" coil the PO had on her. I did a full tune up, replaced the coil with an OE equivalent, and now average 22-25K from a cap & rotor.

Ok so I hooked the truck up to my obd2 connector and went through torque pro and I can see my misfires in real time and through history, so after some testing, 99.99999% of my misfires are below 1000rpm either in park at idle (700rpm) or in gear at idle (600-700rpm) at operating temperature. When it's cold I get roughly half of the amount of misfires I would if it's at temperature... Any suggestions??
