So I have an awd tahoe. Front end was rebuild completly less gears around 2000 miles ago. The front end was silent. Sweet. Now its pretty loud again. Exact same noise on light throttle and 30-50 mph.

On stop and go situations, my styble track comes on. And throttle totallyy stumbles. I was thinking a caliper is sticking. It was doing this prior to rebuild.

When i slow down i here a jingle or like tinging sound.? I know this sounds weird, but if anyone heard it before you will recognise the description.

I pulled both driveshafts and i dont see any problem with the u joints.

Brakes i think are original, 2004 with 119k on em. So i know its time. But im not into just throwing money at a noise.

I have drained and refilled the front diff and the oil was clean.

Havent jacked up the front and checked the wheel bearings/hub yet. But its the same noise that went away when we redid the front end.

Lastly on my wordy issue. Can some one go under there truck and see if the driver side axle were it comes out of the differential has any movement, up and down. My passenger side is tight and my drivers side has play up and down . How much? I would say way more then a turning piece of iron should have!

Thanks for reading

This sounds like a different problem than your noise.
This sounds like a hub/wheel speed sensor. This is a common GM problem, where the sensor sits on the hub, develops corrosion and causes a false reading of some sort.

Do a search, you can try removing and cleaning, replacing the sensor and/or hub. When I bought my 2006 Denali, I had this problem the first day, the used car dealer (not GM dealer) went through fits diagnosing. The used car dealer I bought it from ended having to take it to the GMC dealer, as it turned out, the hub had play because it was worn out and it was not corrosion or a bad sensor like the used car dealer had thought.

I doubt it will fix your noise, but it sounds like if you have the above problem, it needs to be fixed.

Good luck!

Yes i would agree. It only is doing the stable track deal if i roll a stop sign. I would thing if the hub was bad it would sound like shit just coasting right..

So i jacked up the front end tonight and the wheel bearings seam tight. No movement. Can they be tight and still go bad inside? Not really a cheap or easy part to fix if its not bad.

Also was anyone able to slide under there rig and check the stubbydriver side. axle coming out of the differencial for up down movement. Please......

My drivers side and passenger side is tight as can be, no up/down and side/side movement in either axle in my '02 denali!! Doesn't sound right to me if you do have movement but i could be wrong!!

Cool thats what i need. My passenger side is tight. My driver side has like what feels like an 1/8th up and down.

Would be great if i could get one or 2 more front ends checks so i have something to go back to the builder with. He is claiming it must be something else. I dont think so!

Thanks for checking yours

So i pulled the difff out and dropped it off they guy who rebuilt it for me. The short shaft is defninatly messed up. He hasnt pulled it out yet to see whats up and i didnt have a big slide hammer.

So my question is i know there is a needle or cade bearing in the adjuster that could have failed. Seams rare. I only put like 3500 miles on it.. does the axle slide into the spider gears? Could that of. Gotten that sloppy? There are not that many thing in there.

Sounds like you know more about it than me :)
I am interested to hear what the fix is though.
Good luck!

all fixed up

Well i got it back. He had to pull it totally apart. The snap ring that holds the short axle in was broken in two.
Ill try to get it. Back in for a full report.
