I’ve read/researched several sites/forums on swapping bench seats for buckets but need some affirmation as there is only a little bit of everything posted. Thanks for your patience!

I have a 2005 Tahoe with tan cloth bench seats in the front and second row. I would like to swap the second row for buckets. So can anyone advise on the following:

-I should be able to swap the bench seats with buckets from a 2002-2006 Tahoe OR Yukon.

-The buckets seat flips fwd touching the back of the front seats and the seat backs fold forward allowing access to the third row as well as being flush with the third row floor.

-Bucket seats recline

-No modifications are needed.

As for the first row, my driver’s seat offers no low back support making it uncomfortable driving longer than an hour. The drivers part of the bench is power (w/o lumbar).

So again, can I…

-Swap with front buckets from a 02-06 Tahoe or Yukon.

-Do the buckets offer power or manual lumbar support?

-Do I have to cut into the dash if I find a center console in order to mount it?

Any other suggestions for low back support minus the little pillow I already use?

Why all the grief? It’s paid for and my wife is getting an Acadia. I finally get the Tahoe I bought for myself 5 years ago but have only driven on Sundays to church or vacation!

Any help is appreciated, especially those of you who have done the swap.

2nd row bench to buckets are a direct bolt in. Just get all the plastic, from the buckets.....like the plastic that goes behind the seats that cover where the seats will pivot.

No regrets the only thing i have to do is sell the bench and get the buckets covered to match my front now!! the reason i did it was i want a custom console going from the front to the back, and with the buckets in the middle row it looks sexy to me!!!!

yes

Both, power bottoms and manual backs or full power with memory.

yes

I did that anyway. the seats are simply uncomfortable. the only thing worse is a truck bench. i;ve never sat in seats so uncomfortable, except maybe in a dodge neon. I changed the seat position every 45 minutes to an hour, or sat hunched over the wheel instead of back against the seat during my 20 hour drive.

I used to figet in the seat after a mere 30 -45 minutes around town.

Lowered,
When you did the swap does each bucket slide now or are they locked into place? I have a 2001 LT that I want to do the swap to buckets as well for more room to move around
