Morimoto XB fogs or spyder auto

There's an extremely detailed thread on tacomaworld about SAE fog lights. As it applies to us the Morimotos are the only ones that are a direct bolt in but didn't perform as well as other. I think I'm going to try a set of the new Rigid 360 series. I've been looking at their kit for the '900 Sierras and it seems pretty easy to make a bracket for the '900 SUVs as well.

I just check out the thread i may switch it out with rigid instead, the morimotos are very nice but i want maximum output

let me put this way, I basically use these fogs as my high beams, they are plenty bright and output is about 6k, if you want piss yellow color go with the morimoto's personally I can't stand yellow light just doesn't work for me. I use HID's for my regular headlights so any comparable LED has to have a lot of output and these fog's fit the bill nicely. I will try and get some comparison photos tonight of my HID headlights versus these fog lights.

they fit just like stock lights no modification required at all, they are water proof and seem to be bullet proof also the body is all aluminum, I have had these on for 2 years and they are still just like new, no water gets inside, no flickering, no led failure. for $69 they are a great deal they are just as good as $300-400 lights, in fact I got into a accident and it still didn't do anything to them i took them out and put them in the new bumper

Morimoto must make two different fogs, the ones I have let out a white light.

Those are 5500k, still yellowish in my opinion but that's a better price than $300 that they usually are

I have the Morimoto fogs and really like them. My set is whiten not yellow

SO i've spent a little more time figuring out if i can make the Rigid 360-series fit a yukon. Will it fit and mount? Yes. But... it'll sit proud of the bumper. It won't sit recessed like factory. 46577_Chevy_Tahoe_2007_2013_Fog_Mounts.pdf In these instructions from rigid regarding their chevy platform adapters you can see how our bumpers are stepped forward. I checked under my bumper and its stepped forward. My 2500HD is not stepped and i should be able to make them fit in the truck bumper no problem. I'm going to do some measuring in the morning but I'm pretty sure the best option is going to be the morimotos unless you don't mind the Rigids not sitting recessed.

I have the Morimoto on my 08 Silverado and love them. The color matches my 5500k HID retrofits. Nice white bright light. They’re fogs so they’re not supposed to shine a long distance, they work great for their intended purpose, lighting up the lower area below my low beams. I say if you can use fog lights as high beams then they won’t do well in the fog, not to nitpick @Doubeleive but I don’t see why you want them to do that. Low beams themselves actually shine too high in the fog, and we get a lot of it here. If I hit my highs I can’t see shit in fog.
