Why not just get the Airaid jr that gives you the tube and filter for the stock box, and they have an option for a dry filter?

You can do that too, I just like the AFE filters after using them for years. Didnt know airaid was offering dry filters now.

Agreed, assuming he has iridium plugs, but I would change them at 80k and check them at 50k. If not, I would change them every 20k with NGK TR55's gapped at .055". Cheap insurance. I change my fuel filter every 40k, but the NNBS might be an in-tank, don't remember. All of this is just IMHO.

The wife's old Hoe (2004) had 120,000 on stock plugs. But with a your mods and engine work($$$$) I would switch plugs, filters and fluids often too!

Just because it turns on doesn't mean ignore regular maintenance. Please pull one of her plugs and snap a picture of it for me. If there is half an electrode left, I'll be impressed. I replaced my mom's 2002 at 60k miles and it idled smoother, accelerated quicker and picked up 1 mpg.

But I don't sell spark plugs nor have any vested interest in anyone's regular maintenance, I am just trying to help with sharing from personal experience and what I have learned along the way.

No I believe you! The 2004 is gone now, but the Chevy manual stated that the plugs were good for 100,000.

Ben, I had that exact setup on the 08 Tahoe I had. I spent like ~$500 on all of that and it was WELL worth it. Do it!

I'm waiting on the MIT and the K&N drop in filter to get here I ordered them last week.

Now I'm trying to decide on the magnaflow muffler or borla. I'll probably do something different for a exhaust tip. I'm certainly not a fan of dual tips or the look of the volant tips.

Obviously the tune will be last but theres a couple other things I want to do performance wise first.

I wish my truck was a 2009... but unfortunately its not. Its only got 70K miles on it though.

I had the magnaflow 12589 on the Tahoe and it has a great tone. Nice and deep and not too loud. I highly recommend that one if you decide to go with magnaflow.

Ill prolly do that. I want to run a slightly larger pipe leaving the muffler. I think it would look better.

I would go with Magnaflow. I've had both and will not run Borla again. 18" case will give you a deep, mellow rumble and loud WOT, and a 22" will be quiet around town and sound great when you get on the gas. Go with the 22" if you plan to do catless headers later.

Haha, good deal :)

And my mom's plugs didn't actually look that bad, but it sure ran better after they were changed.
