I was rear ended while stopped all alone at a traffic light in the middle lane in my immaculate 1985 El Camino Choo Choo SS by a woman driving a Ford Explorer. Turned out, she had a suspended DL, no insurance, and admitted to the cop that she was taking opiates. While being loaded onto theambulance, a guy said she was in the outer lane, then right befire plowing into me, she moved into my lane and hit me going 40mph. At the ER, the cop came by later to check on me, and said she just got a ticket!! Said she didn't see my white EC with LED taillights nor the light on a sunny morning. Go figure....

My comp and collision covered me, but my medical expense had a deductible which I wound up paying 3 years later.
I never heard anything about court, but researched and found that she pled guilty to having defective brakes.
People like the woman who hit me are the ones who do the car title loans and payday loans, are broke, but loaded up with tats, are close to, or are bankrupt, living a pretty sad existence, much different than those of us who can afford a nice car.
My suggestion is to get their address, see if they own the house. If not or an apartment dweller, they probably have a negative net worth, and would be a waste of time.
