Nice truck! We were between that and our LTZ. My wife of 24 years has heard nothing but how much I hate Ford and would never drive a ford again (granted it was a 77 Mustang). That and its too small for our family of 6'3" freaks.

PC for the win. Swirl and haze remover do the trick? Hoping for a nice set for Christmas here.

You can't even compare any ford explorer to the new one. Totally different. Had mine for a little over a year now and I absolutely love it. Leaps and bounds more technologically advanced than any SUV I have driven to date. Good on gas, quick, easy to drive, roomy, can't complain one bit.

I'm a huge GM guy, I think y'all know that by now, but these new fords are hard to beat. As much as I want to say I'd never buy one, we were on the fence with my new silverado. If it wasn't for GM taking care of me on the new truck, I might have jumped into an FX4.

We had an 03 Eddie Bauer expedition back when they changed into the new body style expedition. Bought it right when they came out. Went from a 99 Tahoe to that. Ford killed it. Then we got the suburban, guess what, GM crushed the expedition. It's a back and forth battle.

Anyhow, Timmy, you know how I feel. You made a good decision for what you need. You'll get plenty of use out of that explorer. Congrats!

For the most part it either. It's got to 85 percent or so corrected.

You are right about the old and new not comparible as the new is not really a SUV per say its a glorified car just like most of the new midsize SUVs out now its a Weak unibody frame that is utterly useless IMHO , Yes the ride will be nice as it shares basically the same frame design of its passenger car frames and drivetrains but other than that you can't really heavily modify the suspension because you have no frame its all one piece ,

I have a guy i work with who (he's not the best driver in his defense) hit a curb in one driving on ICE which ended up busting the rim off the vehicle , Ok a truck or the older SUVs just replace the rim and check the steering components and hubs right?? wrong ended up TOTALING the vehicle out because it tweaked the unibody frame in two places the robot bead welds ripped near the seams ,
what would have been a 3-500 dollar fix for a framed vehicle is now a 30k insurance claim . Im not Bashing Ford in general even the GMC terrains and envoys have this Unibody crap under them I HOPE GM doesn't do this to their Full size suvs , You wouldn't be able to tow a ball of yarn if they did . ok rant over with
