Hi "ya'll",my first post on this site.Just got a 96 in excellent shape, 133,000 on it,but it has an annoying whine.The steering was a little tight compared to my 99,so figured it was the steering pump.Had it replaced,whine did not go away,then pump failed right away.They put a GM one in ,so far so good,steering loosened up some,but not totally.Is the steering in a 96 different than a 99? Whine did not go away either.Could it be the alternator? Starts as soon as its turned on,changes with acceleration.Tranny shifts smooth as butter,not that.Any thoughts?
