I started a thread weeks ago trying to decide which way I should go with the exterior look of the truck and after several changes during the process, today I got the call that it was finally finished.
Started out as the LS trim package, then added Wheels, Tints, Lights & HD hood but even that wasn't enough I wanted to do something to make it stand apart from the trucks in my area. After the suggestions from members of this site I decided to do away with almost all the black pieces on the truck and color match them.
Purchased 12/2010
6/2012 - Tints, Rims, lights & HD Hood
Now - Complete repaint with corrosion removed around the tailgate, Debadged, Trim removed, Bumper pad color matched, DL-3 Mirrors w/color matched caps, LTZ Door handles, Rear door handle and glass button ring color matched, Street scene smooth caps, Painted trailer hitch, AMI Polished bowtie that was painted gloss black w/ color matched outline then clear coated.
And Thanks to a photoshop from my boy Strobin I was able to take this last minute idea and make it a reality.
Its like a brand new truck to me! I can definitely get use to the look and I am actually glad I decided to remove the molding and color match almost all the black pieces. Next up is the Escalade roof rack and possibly painting the lower bumper gloss black to match the running boards.
