This might be my new favorite build of the last few months. 4.56s and a 6.0 should always go together!

we started the project with the 6 inch lift and 35 inch tires so we started with the gearing. 4.56 Richmond gears were installed in the front and rear diffs with a Detroit Trutrac to replace that nasty G80.

3.73 was the old gear ratio. Just couldn't handle the 35's.

Here we are with the rebuild of the 4l60e. The 3-4 clutches were toast. Garage still stinks from the burnt fluid. This is what happens when you dont gear for larger tires.. Not a hard job but you gotta have a very nice pair of snap ring plyers. Had a hell of a time with the harbor freight model. Since this was my first trans rebuild we used multiple youtube videos but primarily used Transmission Bench with his walk thru. PATIENCE is all I can say when rebuilding.
So far we have hit a few local trails, drove to Moab, hit some trails there, then went north to Yellowstone and a few trips to the Denver Airport. All I can say is I wish I would have done this sooner. The shifts are instant and not neck breaking. Love the downshifts when climbing mountains, no hesitation hitting that passing gear.

Here is a few more pics of the engine. Still need to wrap the metal on the cold air intake and run some new conduit for the wires. Im in the process of painting the cover for the engine so ill post that once finished. Throwing in some random pics of Goldies rear end and the rim/tire coilovers.
