So I know theres other threads on this and I've scoured all of them along with the net. my problem goes beyond what others have done apparently. Ive replaced the brake switch and the btsi solenoid or whatever it is. It still will not budge.

So I recently switched over to hydroboost and during the conversion it did this. I know theres also something in the column but not quite sure about that part. well my dash is taken apart down to the column and my truck is just going to sit tip this is figured out because well i can't get it out of park.

The truck starts and runs fine, i also tried the turning the key one click and not pressing the brake to get it out of gear no dice. Im stumped. I looked at the linkage all seems fine. Im thinking ignition even tho it starts maybe its not releasing the lock i don't know. any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think it could be the brake switch. If it's not sensing your brake is pressed, it won't let it out of park.

I replaced that today and checked the harness going to it. All looks good. Brake lights work along with everything else

Is cable pinched or not seated properly. Get under a d check. Also get someone to hold brake while you try to turn from under see if it's a cable related problem or brake switch problem

everything cable related looks good. you think if i have someone push the brake while i turn the shifter on the tranny it'll turn? I would think the linkage would have to be disconnected. this shit is driving me crazy

So i figured it out today just to follow up. I took the driver seat out to get to all the stuff under the dash. My shifter cable runs underneath the rightside bracket of the drivers seat. I tightened it down too tight I guess and it was pinched. Loosened it up and all good now. Thanks for the help guys
