My Denali driver side has been hanging there for months now. I tried to solder it 4 times and each time it holds for about 4 to 5 months and then there is again dangling like a little (explicit) bag I explicited it my self out of respect for the forum and the viewers.

That really sucks man. I had my 'hoe for less than 24 hours before I noticed the rear defroster was broken. My mom's subaru hatchback has the same type of defroster set up yet she's never had a problem, GM really dropped the ball on this one.

CHEVY DEALER VENTING ALERT!!!!!

I just got back from the dealer for this. I (Stupidly) allowed them to do their patch kit repair last fall. It lasted 6 months and broke off again. Manager said they like to try the repair kit first and if that didn't work they would have to replace the glass. So I go back today and tell them that same story. the manager acknowledged that is what they do but my truck is out of warrantee by 2 months! And that the new glass would be $750+ dollars!!

Boy am I a dope to let them do the repair patch. So, I plead my case in front of a full waiting room of customers and made everybody aware that i was taken advantage of. So the manager says he will call GM warranty and see if he can cover this. Still, I feel I'm getting the run-around.

This really sucks!:okay2:

They knew you were within warranty when you brought it in and that pisses me off that they didn't give you the option of replacing the glass then!!

Hello,

I am deeply sorry to hear that you feel as though you are getting the run-around from your dealership. I cannot guarantee anything but I would like to look into this for you. Please private message me.

Just a followup to my OP.

My local dealer, after I persisted, contacted GM and offered to replace the rear glass if I paid the $100 deductible. So, in the end I'm satisfied I was able to get it fixed. Shame though that consumers must fight and make known what is actually a situation that is not fair. The service rep was ready to charge me the $765 to replace the glass. It wasn't until I asked to see the service manager and made an issue of it that I was able to get fair treatment. That is unfortunately the world we live in today - we must fight for everything.......

Did they replace the glass?? I found a special kind of solder for this type repair and I soldered it on and its holding tight I pulled on it and its holding strong I put another spread on it just to be safe and I truly think this is the last time I will be hassling with that!
