Mysterious Cut Wire

Just bought this thing recently & learnin' new things every day, ..., simply because I've had to replace/repair so many things.

I noticed this clipped wire a few days ago, but unaware of what it may be for?
Anyone know?

There should be an under-hood lamp ass'y connected to the end of that.
Maybe a delete by the previous owner...

exactly what he said i just ran out and looked at mine and that is what it is connected to... is the hood light.
