Mysterious wires under my dashboard

That is a Karr security system that has been de-activated. These are used at quite a few new car dealerships for lot security (starter kill engages and doors lock automatically, only sales can open/disarm). If you (or whoever purchased the truck new) opted out of buying the system, the LED pod is removed and that black box with the small vent slots is installed. This is a full alarm system with door triggers, keyless entry, starter kill, and impact sensor. All you need to make it work is one of the activation LED pods, but you can remove it and not harm anything as long as you connect the two thicker gauge orange wires (if present on the alarm module) after removing the brain. These are the starter wires. If they're not there, there may be a separate relay connected for a starter disable device above the brake pedal under the dash.
