Mystery part! Can anyone recognize this item?

I pulled off the skid plate under my 2001 Yukon and this part, which looks like a cap of some kind, came with it. Does anyone know where it comes from?

Looks like a freeze plug to me. They go in the side of the engine block, If the water in the block freezes that plug pops out instead of the block cracking. Are you the original owner? If not it may have popped out and just fell down there and was replaced.

Solved! This is the cap from the AC tensioner which fits over the spring.
