Mystery wire lounging on valve cover

What is the sensor this wire goes to and where is it supposed to be routed? I'm no expert but its placement looks a little fishy. Anyone have a pic of how its routed in theirs? Thanks

Temperature sensor ,pretty much like that.

Thats insane what kind of person decides a wire should be ran like that. I cant take it

So, cut it, extend it and get some wire loom to hide it. Watch the exhaust manifold because it will melt anything placed near, on, or extemely close.

I want to run it with the spark plug wires and some sort of insulator but that is a bad idea probably.

Use some skinny wire loom and it will look more official, like it belongs there!
