when the pads get low those clips hit the rotor and squeal, thats your warning to change the brakes.

nagative on the squealers. drag reduction clips are an add on spring that pushes the pads off the rotor.

hmm for a bit more you can get the autozone premium ceramic pads with lifetime warranty and never have to buy pads again, if they wear out they give you new ones for free.

cant say i recall seeing them on gm brakes before, have seen em tho. they def wont help a over sized pad end.
